Change 4 Corofin

Annual events have been organised to promote community spirit, such as Duck Race, Santa & Christmas Party, Halloween Party. Other occasional social events are organised as well.

Background and Projects
The Corofin Community Council (CCC) was formed in 2002 with the aim of developing stronger community involvement.

Annual events have been organised to promote community spirit, such as Duck Race, Santa & Christmas Party, Halloween Party. Other occasional social events are organised, including Table Quizes and Treasure Hunts.
Any funds raised by the CCC are ploughed back into the community by funding our community projects (e.g. bridge flower baskets), and assisting other local voluntary organisations with projects (e.g. Corofin Utd. grounds entrance, Corofin Athletic Club).

Funds are currently being allocated to an ambitious Townland Signs Project, which is underway with good progress. Stone signs with the names of each of the sixty townlands (in English and as Gaeilge) will be erected.

Local Volunteers
From its office in the Corofin Barracks, regular meetings are held by the CCC Committee, which is made up of some of the local volunteers. It is through the generous help of local volunteers that the CCC events are so successful. Many of the volunteers are parents who find that the events give the children very entertaining social events that are both local and great value; whilst the volunteers themselves get great satisfaction from contributing to their own community.
